Small yet beautiful

This garden belongs to a holiday rental so the garden had to be low maintenance yet stylish to match the wonderful interior.

Where possible we retained some of the original planting – there were some beautiful roses and well established Hebes but it had been neglected for years. The fencing had to be replaced so we choose close board fencing as it is more classy than panels. Three Betula utilis Jacquemontii ‘Snow Queen’¬† (Himalayan silver birch) trees were planted at the back. These trees are superb in a small garden as they give year round interest – the bark is a pure white and in spring they have the most lovely catkins.
